HotelTonight, a mobile app that offers deep discounts on same-day hotel deals, has landed a big fish for its marketing chief—Travelocity executive Beth Murphy.

For background, HotelTonight offers Android and iOS apps that allow you to access steep discounts on hotel rooms. The service is focused around last-minute bookings, and is currently available in 22 cities. The startup has raised $3.25 million from Battery Ventures, Accel Partners and First Round Capital. And the company has seen over 700,000 downloads of its mobile apps.

Murphy most recently led mobile product, media and global marketing efforts for Travelocity. She has held leadership roles at Yahoo, Digg, Visa and Intuit. As Chief Marketing Officer, Murphy will lead all product and marketing efforts for HotelTonight.
